Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator safeguards workforce and assets by enforcing regulations, assessing risks, investigating incidents, and crafting safety programs. The Safety Coordinator supports project teams, oversees hazard mitigation, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement to maintain compliance and reduce risks.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Supervises and ensures the safety of employees, trade partners, and public
Enforces corporate and projects specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards
Guide safety staff and assists in their development
Directs daily operations and identifies opportunities to improve safety regulations
Facilitates third party safety reviews including OSHA
Conducts risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illness, and long-term health hazards
Provides support to project teams on safety-related matters, including accident investigation and reporting
Partners with field supervision to ensure safety hazard mitigation measures are included in the planning of project construction activities
Develops and catalogs Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) specific to trenching and pipe laying
Presents safety information and documentation to various General Contractors (GCs)
Stays up to date with industry’s best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve safety standards
Investigates and reports on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Performs other duties, as assigned
