Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced Energy Marshal / LOTO SME to support high-risk commissioning, startup, and construction activities on mission-critical and industrial projects. This role is responsible for overseeing hazardous energy control programs, enforcing LOTO procedures, managing energized work controls, and supporting safe system energization across active construction and commissioning environments.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in LOTO program ownership, Permit-to-Work (PTW), NFPA 70E compliance, commissioning safety, and multi-trade coordination within complex electrical and mechanical construction environments.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee site-wide Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy isolation programs
Serve as the primary Energy Marshal during commissioning, startup, turnover, and energization activities
Review, authorize, and manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Energized Electrical Work Permits (EEWP)
Enforce NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements and arc-flash protection controls
Coordinate electrical and mechanical isolation boundaries with contractors and subcontractors
Support commissioning and startup teams during critical-system readiness and live-system work
Conduct field audits, inspections, and verification of LOTO procedures and energy isolation points
Lead high-risk work planning activities involving energized systems, confined space, and critical infrastructure
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, EM 385-1-1, and project-specific safety standards
Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
Deliver training related to LOTO, PTW, electrical safety, and hazardous energy control
Maintain accurate documentation for permits, isolation logs, audits, and safety reporting
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in electrical safety, industrial electrical work, or EHS with an electrical focus
Demonstrated LOTO SME experience — you have built or audited LOTO programs, not just followed them
Working knowledge of NFPA 70E (arc flash safety, shock hazard analysis, PPE selection)
Solid understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 (Control of Hazardous Energy)
Experience developing and delivering safety training to hourly and skilled-trade employees
Ability to read electrical diagrams, one-line drawings, and equipment documentation

NFPA 70E certification or formal NFPA 70E training credential
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
