Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant on behalf of our client, a comprehensive orthopedic clinic.
The Sr. Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the organization's accounting, reporting, and financial analysis functions. This position will assist with month-end close activities, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, budgeting, reporting, and growth initiatives across a multi-entity healthcare environment. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Sr. Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with finance team members, revenue cycle operations, and organizational leadership to provide accurate financial information and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and supporting reconciliations within a multi-company environment.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and provide variance analysis to support operational and financial performance reviews.
- Develop, test, and deliver ad hoc financial reports and analyses.
- Collaborate with the Controller and finance team to assess and report organizational performance.
- Work closely with revenue cycle, operations, and department leaders to provide actionable financial insights.
- Assist in developing financial data collection and measurement tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze monthly operating reports.
- Support budgeting efforts for capital expenditures and operational departments, including marketing initiatives.
- Assist with annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Process payment authorizations and requests while coordinating with external vendors and affiliated entities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and recommend efficiencies.
- Train, mentor, and review the work of Staff Accountants.
- Support newly formed and future entities with accounting, reporting, and financial management needs.
- Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements Include:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA designation preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- At least three (3) years of healthcare industry accounting experience required.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-company environment preferred.
- Experience supporting audits, budgeting, and financial reporting functions.
Skills:
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and general ledger accounting skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Experience creating financial reports and performing data analysis.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Certifications:
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Knowledge of healthcare accounting and financial operations.
- Experience with intercompany transactions.
- Proficiency with NetSuite ERP systems required.
- Familiarity with NextGen preferred.
- Experience with UKG and Tableau is a plus.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
