Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, perform clinical pharmaceutical care for patients in collaboration with other pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare providers and patients in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

Train to work in various pharmacies at ANMC, including Outpatient, Inpatient, Healthy Communities Building (HCB), Mediset, and Discharge/Transitions of Care.

P rovide patient counseling, drug information, drug therapy consultation, and staff education.

R eview patient profile and clinical status, labs, dosing intervals, and drug therapy combinations to assure safe and effective medication use.

C onsult with healthcare providers on therapy recommendations as appropriate.

C onduct medication dispensing, compounding, order entry, and verification of all pharmaceutical activities.

R epackage and distributes prescription; performs compounding of IV, topical, and oral medications in an accurate and timely manner.

D ocument patient and procedural information. Follows proper billing procedures.

R estock bays and all other work areas with medications.

P erform inventory checks with inventory pharmacy technicians.

A nswer phone calls and provides backup front desk customer service.

C ontribute to department process improvement initiatives.

P erform other duties as assigned.
