In-House HVAC Technician Job Description:

Superior Skilled Trades is currently seeking an experienced In-House HVAC Technician for a large, sophisticated customer facility in the Marlborough, MA area. This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing commercial HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment.

The HVAC Technician will coordinate and perform preventive maintenance activities on a wide range of equipment, including heating and ventilation systems, pumps, fans, sterilizers, cage washers, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial HVAC experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work professionally with clients and facility teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Maintain and service boilers, chillers, pumps, fans, and other mechanical equipment.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Comply with Section 608 of the Clean Air Act requirements.
• Maintain current trade licenses and certifications.
• Attend required safety training.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and professional appearance.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and facility personnel.
• Work overtime and weekends as required based on operational needs.

Qualifications for In-House HVAC Technician:

• Must hold a current Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Commercial HVAC systems experience and knowledge required.
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
• BMS (Building Management System) or automation experience is a plus.
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Additional Requirements for In-House HVAC Technician:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk, stand, climb ladders and stairways, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in various facility environments. Candidate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift 51–100 lbs., and rarely lift 101+ lbs. Must have the ability to perform tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
