Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented R&D Technician – Food Product Development to join our innovative Research & Development team. In this role, you will support the creation, testing, and refinement of new food products from concept through sample preparation and evaluation. You will play a key role in preparing bench-top samples, following precise formulations, and ensuring consistency and quality in all product development activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment focused on food innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist R&D Technologists in preparing food product samples for customer presentations and internal evaluations.
  • Conduct bench-top cooking, including flavor application and color development based on product specifications.
  • Accurately weigh and measure ingredients using gram scales and follow detailed formulas and procedures.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality in all sample preparations.
  • Manage assigned R&D projects and sample requests in a timely and organized manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation of the R&D lab at all times.
  • Assist in troubleshooting product formulation issues and support adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with R&D team members to support product development and innovation initiatives.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and lab safety procedures in compliance with company standards.
  • Document sample preparations, observations, and process notes accurately.

Experience

  • Previous experience in food science, culinary arts, food manufacturing, or laboratory environments preferred.
  • Strong ability to follow formulas, technical instructions, and standardized procedures with precision.
  • Familiarity with ingredient scaling, recipe development, or food sample preparation is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices in a lab or production setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency in execution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and work in environments with varying temperatures.

Pay: From $16.00 per year
