Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Job Description

The Electrical Assembler produces high-quality components by assembling parts and subassemblies, with a strong focus on electrical wiring and integration. This role involves working at an intermediate level with electrical wires, harnesses, and assemblies, using a variety of hand and power tools to build, install, and test electrical components and finished products. The Electrical Assembler prepares work by reviewing parts lists and diagrams, ensures all assemblies meet quality standards, and maintains a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Produce components by assembling electrical and mechanical parts and subassemblies according to specifications.
  • Perform electrical wiring and integrate electrical wires into products at an intermediate skill level.
  • Use hand tools such as crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, and press-fit tools to assemble parts.
  • Operate hand and power tools including torque drills, wrenches, and ratchets to complete assembly tasks.
  • Mount assembled components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets onto chassis panels.
  • Connect component wires to circuits and route wires between individual component leads and terminals.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, cabinets, and other enclosures.
  • Position and align components and parts accurately to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Use hand tools or machines to assemble, secure, and fasten parts and components.
  • Conduct quality control checks on assemblies to verify compliance with diagrams, schematics, and standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and electrical assembly diagrams to guide assembly work.
  • Prepare work by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials needed for production.
  • Perform wire harness assembly and follow wire harness designs to build and route cables and wiring.
  • Work on assembly lines as needed to support production of electrical assemblies, cables, and wire harnesses.
  • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure proper dimensions and cuts.
  • Clean and maintain the work area, equipment, and tools to support a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Intermediate-level experience with electrical wiring and integrating electrical wires into products.
  • Ability to perform wire harness assembly and follow wire harness designs.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and electrical assembly diagrams.
  • Experience with electronic assembly and electrical assembly processes, including cables and wiring.
  • Strong proficiency working with various hand and power tools such as torque drills, wrenches, ratchets, crimps, and soldering tools.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily assembly tasks.
  • Attention to detail and ability to conduct quality control checks on assembled components.
  • Ability to work effectively on an assembly line and follow standardized procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical wiring in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with mounting electrical components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets.
  • Comfort using a variety of fastening methods including screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, and press fits.
  • Ability to interpret parts lists and organize tools, materials, and subassemblies before starting work.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient work area.
  • Ability to adapt to assembly line workflows and changing production demands.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
