Family Practice Associates (FPA) is a well-established healthcare provider founded in 1983 by Dr. Jeffrey Foxx. As one of the largest and most respected family practice groups in Central Kentucky, FPA is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, family-centered care from infancy through the senior years. FPA is comprised of a diverse team of over 20 primary care providers including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and a marriage and family therapist. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that patients receive holistic and personalized care that addresses a wide range of health needs.

FPA prides itself on its quality of care and has been nationally recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Commission on Quality Assurance. This accolade highlights FPA’s commitment to providing well-coordinated, accessible, and patient-focused healthcare. Patients receive enhanced access to medical services not only at FPA’s physical locations in Hamburg and Brannon Crossing but also through convenient online platforms, making care more accessible and efficient.

The role of the Front Office Receptionist at Family Practice Associates is pivotal to maintaining the high standard of patient service for which the organization is known. This full-time position involves managing patient interactions during check-in and check-out processes to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience. The Front Office Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, greeting them with professionalism and courtesy, verifying and updating patient information accurately, and handling essential administrative duties such as patient registration and processing insurance information.

Daily tasks in this role include managing patient appointment schedules using Allscripts PM software, handling copayments and deductibles at the point of service, and ensuring that all patient records and documentation are properly scanned and indexed within the electronic health record system. The Front Office Receptionist also plays a key role in insurance eligibility verification and benefits explanation, helping patients understand their coverage and financial responsibilities. Additionally, the role supports prescription management by verifying, printing, and securing necessary provider signatures for controlled medications.

This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to assist patients with questions, concerns, and scheduling needs. The receptionist also coordinates the scheduling and logistics for drug representative visits, helping to organize breakfast and luncheon meetings and maintaining clear communication with the staff about these events. Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional front office environment is another important responsibility, reinforcing the welcoming atmosphere patients expect at FPA.

The ability to travel between the Hamburg and Brannon Crossing locations is required. The position offers a competitive compensation package including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K with company match, paid time off with holiday pay, uniform allowance, continuing education reimbursement, and free parking.
