MD Grade 1 Certified Boiler Plant Operator

The Boiler Plant Operator runs, maintains, and repairs large steam-generating boilers and auxiliary equipment at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Key Job Functions

Interpret gauges, meters, and computerized control systems to track steam pressure, water levels, and combustion efficiency.

Perform preventative maintenance—such as replacing valves and gaskets—and conduct repairs to keep equipment from corroding or malfunctioning.

Sample and test boiler water, adjusting chemical treatments as needed to prevent rust and scaling.

Conduct diagnostic tests, maintain detailed operational logs, and follow strict environmental and safety regulations.

Performs other related duties as required

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Must have at least 5 years of experience of operating boiler plants and at least 2 years operating boiler plants as MD Grade 1 Stationary Engineer

Must be licensed as Maryland (MD) Stationary Engineer Grade 1 - 500 or more horsepower (in any building)

Must submit license(s) with resume

Must possess mechanical inclination and the physical ability to work in demanding environments (bending, lifting, climbing)

Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Must be able to pass a government background check
