Shop Hand / Delivery Driver

Position Summary

The Shop Hand / Delivery Driver provides general support to warehouse, shop, and field operations. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient work environment, assisting with material handling and project preparation, making deliveries to jobsites and customers, and supporting various operational needs throughout the company. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to assist wherever needed to help projects run smoothly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shop & Warehouse Support

• Assist with general warehouse and shop operations.
• Load, unload, move, and organize doors, frames, hardware, and related materials.
• Stage materials for upcoming projects and deliveries.
• Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and shop environment.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Assist with inventory organization and material tracking.
• Help move materials between departments, work areas, and jobsites as needed.
• Perform general labor and shop support tasks as assigned.

Delivery Duties

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials, supplies, and equipment to jobsites, vendors, and customers.
• Load and secure materials to prevent damage during transport.
• Verify delivery contents and obtain required signatures or documentation.
• Maintain delivery logs, mileage records, and related paperwork.
• Communicate delivery status and jobsite issues to supervisors.
• Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers, vendors, and contractors.

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after use.
• Check tires, oil, fluids, batteries, lights, and other vehicle systems.
• Keep company vehicles clean and presentable.
• Report maintenance and repair needs promptly.
• Operate and maintain forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving and verifying incoming materials as needed.
• Support special projects and operational needs throughout the company.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle operation.
• Knowledge of warehouse and material handling procedures.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to read and understand delivery tickets, packing slips, purchase orders, and related documents.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles and forklifts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid California Driver's License.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Previous warehouse, shop, construction, or delivery experience preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Experience:

• Warehouse / Shop hand: 2 years (Preferred)
• Construction Delivery Driver: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• California Driver's License (Required)
