Overview
As a Manager, Revenue Accounting Operations at Fanatics Betting Gaming (FBG), you will join our high-energy Accounting and Finance team at the intersection of technical accounting and data-driven operations. The Manager of Revenue Accounting Operations plays a critical role in executing and scaling revenue accounting operations, ensuring accurate close, strong controls, and audit readiness within the Accounting and Finance Department reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue. This role has direct ownership of key revenue accounting processes, including monthly close execution, review controls, audit coordination, and data integrity validation within a complex, highly regulated, and data-intensive environment.
Our successful candidate is a collaborative accounting professional who is equally at home in a GL as they are writing a SQL query or stress-testing a reconciliation model. They bring the interpersonal skills to function successfully in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization, collaboration, and influencing abilities. Our candidate will be comfortable and effective in a rapidly changing environment and will partner closely with the leaders of data, tax, treasury, legal, and FP A, as well as a broad group of cross-functional business teams to provide guidance and support well-informed decisions. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between business functions and Accounting and Finance, and to partner with senior leaders.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis Systems Ownership
Own and manage data flows and system dependencies underlying financial reporting, including source-to-GL traceability
Independently query and validate large transaction datasets (e.g., SQL/Snowflake) to support close, reconciliations, and control testing
Analyze revenue results and variances, identify trends, and surface actionable insights to leadership
Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics to build scalable, automated accounting workflows that reduce manual close effort
Identify data quality issues upstream of the GL and drive resolution with technical and business partners
Revenue Close Controls
Own and execute the monthly revenue close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
Review and oversee revenue share calculations, account reconciliations, and AR matching results
Develop processes for the preparation and recording of required journal entries
Maintain process documentation and ensure SOX control readiness as the business scales
Ensure revenue accounting practices are compliant with GAAP
Audit Regulatory
Coordinate and manage external audit requests, including PBCs, walkthroughs, and follow-ups
Serve as revenue accounting lead for stand-alone state audits and regulatory reviews
Maintain audit-ready documentation connecting transactional data sources to reported balances
Cross-Functional Strategic
Support cross-functional initiatives including new product launches, cost of revenue analysis, and ad-hoc accounting requests
Partner with senior leaders across data, tax, treasury, legal, and FP A to provide accounting guidance on new business activities
Team Leadership
Provide hands-on leadership to a team of revenue accounting professionals, balancing direct execution with coaching, review, and team development
Must be open to occasional travel to FBG offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team building
