Staff Software Engineer, Integrations Platform
Fixify's Integrations Platform team owns two connected surfaces: the framework and SDK that determine how we integrate with the tools our customers use, and the pipeline that moves the resulting events through processing into the persistence layers behind the ITSM platform. The portfolio is growing fast, authored today by our team and tomorrow by FDEs, Customer Engineering, contractors, and AI agents. The shape of the platform underneath matters more than any single integration, and someone needs to own that shape across quarters, not weeks.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Integrations Platform team, you would own the multi-quarter shape of the platform: architectural direction for non-API integration patterns (current and emerging), the ingestion pipeline architecture, and the authoring framework that lets FDEs, Customer Engineering, contractors, and AI agents extend the platform safely. You would also track where the platform surfaces across Fixify (onboarding, customer setup, CS tooling, ops workflows) and drive consolidation so it stays coherent as more teams touch it. All of this as a multiplier for the team, not as a portfolio of solo wins.
This is a coaching role as much as a building role. You would pair on hard design decisions before they ship, run design reviews as a teaching forum, take your regular turn in the maintenance rotation, and share the escalation surface with the engineering manager. The point of this hire is to make the next architecture decision easier for the rest of the team, not to become the person every decision routes through.
What we can do for you
Hand you the architectural canvas for a platform that is mid-build, with the destination already meaningful (large-scale integration portfolio, agent authoring on top) and the room to shape how we get there.
Pair you with staff engineers across other engineering domains who are engaged on adjacent problems, and a small senior team who will push back on you the way you should push back on them.
Connect you directly to the customers and analysts on the other end of your platform decisions, so the architecture is grounded in real user reality rather than abstract elegance.
Trust your judgment on multi-quarter calls. We expect you to make them, document them, and revisit them when context changes.
Protect your time to coach. This is a core part of your week, not something you have to squeeze in on the side.
What you can do for us
Drive long-term architectural decisions and manage abstraction trade-offs.
Own the architecture of the ingestion pipeline: ingestion, transformation, routing, error handling, redrive, replay, observability under load.
Design secure authoring frameworks for FDEs, Customer Engineering, contractors, and AI agents.
Track and simplify the platform surface as integrations spread across Fixify (onboarding, customer setup, CS tooling, ops workflows).
Coach the team through collaborative design reviews and pairing.
Integrate operability directly into platform design.
Use customer and operational feedback to shape design decisions.
Scale impact by framing projects that enable other engineers to contribute
What you should bring with you
Track record of leading multi-quarter platform or integrations work, with architectural ownership across multiple product surfaces.
Experience designing SDKs, authoring frameworks, or systems for safe product extension by engineers, partners, or external authors.
8+ years building scalable, observable SaaS systems.
Deep fluency in TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS primitives (Lambda, SQS, S3) or equivalents, demonstrated by architectural trade-offs, not just syntax.
Hands-on experience with non-API integration patterns: at-scale webhooks, multi-tenant OAuth, and at least one of browser-driven automation, iPaaS bridges (Okta Workflows, Tines, Workato), or callback-based signs.
Experience with event-driven data pipelines on AWS: error handling, redrive, replay, back-pressure.
Ability to articulate an architectural decision you are proud of and one you would change with hindsight.
A teaching-shaped, not gatekeeping-shaped, reviewer's instinct.
Fluency with AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and a perspective on platform design with AI agents as authors.
The confidence to say "I do not know yet, here is how I would find out."
