Primary Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Install, maintain, and modify motors, motor controls, electrical panels, and wiring.
  • Diagnose problems with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain overhead cranes, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Work safely around high-voltage equipment while following lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.

Work Environment

  • Steel mills are hot, noisy, and physically demanding.
  • Most electricians work 12-hour rotating shifts with overtime opportunities.

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
