Role Description The Commercial Millwork Installer role is a contract by project on-site position. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing custom millwork, casework, and architectural woodwork according to plans and specifications, ensuring accurate measurements, level installations, and secure fastening. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, coordinating with site supervisors and other trades, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Installers will use a variety of hand and power tools, handle material loading and unloading, and perform on-site adjustments or repairs as needed. The position also requires adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project schedules, as well as clear communication with team members and clients’ representatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in commercial millwork or carpentry installation, including experience with casework, trim, and architectural woodwork.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading blueprints, understanding construction drawings, and following detailed installation instructions.
- Candidates should possess skills in using hand and power tools safely and effectively, including saws, drills, levels, and measuring devices.
- Candidates should possess skills in basic math, measurement, and layout, ensuring accurate cutting, fitting, and alignment of materials.
- Candidates should possess skills in workplace safety practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA or industry safety standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in teamwork and communication, with the ability to coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and fellow installers.
- Previous experience in commercial millwork installation, finish carpentry, or related construction trades is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, lift and carry materials, and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
- Reliable transportation, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are expected; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
