About the Role Our client is seeking a warm, professional, and highly organized Front Desk Agent to join their esteemed hotel team in Washington, D.C. . This role is the first point of contact for guests and plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive experience from arrival to departure. You will be responsible for managing check-ins and check-outs, handling guest inquiries, providing local information, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, amenities, and local attractions. Handle guest requests and resolve complaints promptly and professionally. Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the property management system (PMS). Process payments, post charges, and balance cash drawers accurately. Provide information about hotel policies and procedures to guests. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area. Coordinate with other hotel departments to fulfill guest needs. Assist with phone operations and message taking. Promote hotel services and amenities to enhance guest experience. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training in hospitality is a plus. Previous experience in customer service or a front desk role is highly desirable. Proficiency with computers and standard office software. Experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A professional appearance and positive attitude.
