Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Responsible for performing preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance to equipment, machines, and all associated support equipment at the yard location. This position is primarily responsible for performing preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs after daily production has ended, ensuring all equipment is properly serviced, inspected, and ready for the next day’s operation. They will work on heavy industrial equipment including shredders, conveyors, and material separation systems, utilizing mechanical skills, welding, and fabrication as needed. They will also work closely with operations, maintenance, environmental, or some combination of all.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform preventive maintenance on shredder and ASR plant equipment after production hours
• Inspect machinery for wear, damage, and potential failures, and complete necessary repairs
• Service and maintain conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, belts, pulleys, and separation systems
• Replace wear parts such as shredder hammers, liners, and grates
• Perform welding and fabrication work to repair or reinforce equipment and structures
• Lubricate, adjust, and align mechanical components to ensure proper operation
• Complete maintenance checklists and document work performed
• Assist with planned shutdown maintenance and larger repair projects
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience (scrap, steel, mining, or similar heavy industry preferred)
• Basic welding and torch cutting experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial equipment
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and procedures
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces
• Willingness to work 2nd shift, overtime, and occasional weekends
• Basic computer skills are required.

Work Hours:

• 3pm till 11:30pm
• The employee will work a Monday – Friday 45+hr work week.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required for extended maintenance or shutdowns.
• $2 Shift Differental

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
