Welder Position

is seeking a skilled welder to join our Louisville, Ky team in our Steel Service's Division! This position fabricates or repairs metal parts by welding, brazing, cutting and metal spraying, using Mig, Tig, Stick, Oxyacetylene, Submerged Arc welding and spraying equipment by applying their welding knowledge and skills to complete the assignments.

Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances before welding the work piece, establishing the sequence of operations and setting up requirements.

Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent welding

Calculates and sets controls to regulate welding factors such as rotation speed, travel speed, tip angle, preheat and post heat

Starts and observes welding operations to detect malfunctions and adjusts machine controls to the required adjustments

Collaborates with engineers, production staff, programmers, and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve welding or assembly issues.

Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment and tests operations of unit to ensure functionality and performance

Recommends plan of action based on their welding expertise as applicable

Operates overhead cranes to transport, set or move work assignments and other material handling equipment.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) High School is required.

Trade school training in welding is a plus.

Requires one to three years' welding experience or combination of experience and education may be considered.
