Schedule Details
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday requirements. Every 4th weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and 2 holidays per year.
Pay Range
$35.50 – $53.25 per hour.
Job Summary
Atrium Health Cabarrus is a community-based acute care hospital providing comprehensive inpatient services. Occupational therapists collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. In the inpatient setting, therapists evaluate functional status, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide interventions focused on restoring independence, preventing disability, and supporting safe discharge planning.
Essential Functions
- Provides direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care requiring service 7 days a week, including holidays (acute care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility).
- Evaluates patients, selects and administers assessment techniques, synthesizes information to establish appropriate patient care plans including necessary modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups and patient education.
- Gathers and interprets appropriate data from the medical record, physician reports, patient and/or family.
- Communicates patient evaluations and progress to physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff, coordinating schedules, treatment programs and discharge planning, and recommending solutions to patient care problems.
- Documents evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing and walking are required throughout the day. The candidate must be able to climb stairs, kneel, twist, bend, crouch, crawl and reach overhead. Lifting of patients, equipment or supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally is required. Ability to laterally transfer patients up to 100 pounds rarely is necessary. Adequate hearing (corrected) for oral communication and adequate vision (corrected) for reading, along with intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills, are essential. The work environment is fast-paced, primarily indoors with occasional outdoor work.
Education, Experience & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy required. Applicable state license for OT required. BLS required per policy guidelines.
