ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to support a multi-site manufacturing organization in Waukesha, WI. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys managing large-scale capital projects from concept through completion. The Project Engineer will play a critical role in delivering complex engineering initiatives, supporting operational improvements, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Job Description:

  • Manage all aspects of large-scale, complex capital projects from initiation through final implementation across multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Estimate project costs, resource requirements, and timelines to establish realistic project plans and budgets
  • Develop and execute project plans while monitoring progress against milestones, scope, budget, and performance objectives
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate project risks and operational issues to minimize delays and maintain project momentum
  • Coordinate and manage internal resources to ensure project deliverables and completion dates are achieved
  • Select, coordinate, and oversee contractors and external partners to ensure quality standards and project expectations are met
  • Perform technical calculations related to equipment output, conveyor sizing, production capacity, scrap volume, and manufacturing efficiencies
  • Prepare line layouts, equipment flow diagrams, and equipment specifications based on throughput and operational requirements
  • Provide direction and guidance to designers in the development of facility layouts and engineering documentation
  • Provide capital cost estimates and lead-time information to support business opportunities and strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines and cross-functional teams to secure specialized resources and technical expertise
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and coordinate project activities to achieve project milestones and objectives
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare regular status reports for plant leadership, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
  • Formalize and track capital budgets while supporting reporting requirements and fixed asset compliance initiatives
  • Serve as a primary engineering resource supporting facility operations and profitability improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and coach junior project engineers, providing technical guidance and assistance with problem-solving efforts
  • Build effective working relationships with plant leadership, employees, vendors, contractors, and engineering teams across the organization
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed to support project execution and implementation activities

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing capital projects from initiation through completion
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and purchasing activities
  • Project team leadership, coordination, or management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across multiple facilities
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Experience utilizing project management software such as Microsoft Project

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities simultaneously
  • Experience with facility engineering services and fixed asset compliance
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and equipment installations
  • Experience developing line layouts and equipment flow diagrams
  • Exposure to budgeting, capital forecasting, and financial reporting for engineering projects
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior engineering professionals
