Qualifications
•
Ability to lift, push, or pull 25 pounds.
•
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach.
•
Previous experience working or volunteering with children is required.
•
Experience in a Preschool-type setting is preferred.
•
Professional in appearance and communication
Essential Functions & Job Duties
•
Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans
•
Implement and follow a daily schedule
•
Use creativity to engage children in learning using crafts, painting, storytelling, games, etc
•
Assist in preparing food and serving to children
•
Regulate rest periods
•
Maintain a safe environment, keeping control of your class at all times
•
Communicate with children’s parents/guardians about daily activities and behaviors
•
Support children’s emotional and social development;
•
Sanitize all surfaces, toys and equipment daily
•
Keep children clean and change diapers (Only adult women change diapers or assist children in restrooms.)
•
Perform additional duties as necessary; laundry, dishes, change sheets, trash, etc
Expectations
•
Report to work on time and when scheduled.
•
Cell phone use should be limited while on duty
•
Must be in your room 15 minutes prior to children arriving.
•
Should not clock in more than five minutes early unless requested to do so by the Coordinator.
•
Unexcused absences of 2 or more a month will result in a counseling session with verbal and/or written warning
•
Excessive tardiness is considered 10 minutes late or more which will result in a counseling session with verbal and/or a written warning
•
No call/No show is grounds for immediate termination
•
Must be flexible with days and hours as they may vary
Handling Unexpected Absences
•
Contact the Coordinator as soon as possible if you are sick and unable to work.
•
When time off is needed and less than two weeks’ notice is given, you may be asked to find your own shift replacement. If needed, contact the Coordinator for staffing suggestions.
•
Add blockout dates to Planning Center Services more than two weeks in advance of time off.
