Fleet Mechanic
Thornton , CO| $35–$40/hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a well-established heavy civil construction company in Colorado that has built a strong reputation over the past 20 years. They’re known for running high-quality projects and taking care of their people.
They’re looking for a dependable, hands-on mechanic who can handle everything from small engines to large diesel equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform preventative maintenance to keep fleet equipment running efficiently
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems
- Work on gas and diesel-powered trucks
- Service heavy construction equipment and small tools
- Operate a mobile service truck to support multiple job sites
- Deliver equipment when needed (CDL preferred)
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance
- Work safely around heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steers, and backhoes
What They’re Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on preventative maintenance experience
- Strong diagnostic ability across hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems
- Experience with gas and diesel engines
- Comfortable working on both small engines and large heavy equipment
- CDL with clean MVR preferred
- Team-oriented, can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and working in tight spaces
- Lift up to 70 lbs occasionally; 50 lbs frequently
- Work outdoors in varying temperatures and dusty/greasy environments
- Repetitive use of hands and tools
