Description
The Electrician is responsible for providing immediate and effective response to work assigned by supervisors or by work order, ensuring work is completed professionally and the building and occupants are safe. The role requires coverage that may involve overtime during emergencies, and participation in emergency power testing and related details.
Responsibilities
- Skilled in all phases of electrical repair and maintenance. Able to troubleshoot, collect data, establish facts, and present valid conclusions. Proficient in preventive maintenance.
- Competent at reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, diagrams, procedure manuals, and motor controls.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safe tool and equipment use, adheres to safety rules and regulations, and has a working knowledge of the NYC electrical code.
- Works independently or with co‑workers without supervision.
- Works in all areas of the hospital and school with courtesy and professional awareness.
- Has the ability to perform duties on ladders and lifts, indoors and outdoors, lift up to 50 lbs., and work around high voltage up to 13.2 kVA.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required.
- Three years of experience in the trade working under a licensed electrician or two years after completing a trade school.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $36.4163 – $36.9496 hourly, in compliance with New York City salary transparency laws. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and operational need. The range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other benefits.
