Avenues: The World School New York is seeking caring, dependable educators to join our Small World Extended Day Program, to work with our two-year-old students. This is an excellent opportunity for educators, graduate students in early childhood education, or experienced preschool teachers seeking part-time afternoon work.

The Opportunity

We are hiring educators to provide a warm, engaging after-school experience for our youngest learners in a collaborative, play-based environment.

Positions Available

Teacher Group Leader – $105 per day ($42 hourly rate based on 2.5 hour shift)

Teacher – $90 per day ($36 hourly rate based on 2.5 hours shifts)

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 3:00–5:30 p.m.

Candidates may work 2–5 afternoons per week following consistent schedule

Positions are available by semester or for the full academic year.

What You'll Bring

Experience working with young children in a school or licensed early childhood setting is required.

Candidates must meet New York City Department of Health (DOH) requirements to work in a licensed early childhood program.

Required DOH training and certifications can be completed remotely prior to the start of employment.

DEEP COLLABORATION, CONSTANT EVOLUTION

LANGUAGE IMMERSION

Avenues students will graduate fluent in a second language and at ease beyond their borders. To this end, Nursery-Grade 5 students alternate their days between English and Spanish or English and Chinese instruction.
