Diesel Mechanic - Waste Collection

Join our team at Waste Management as a Diesel Mechanic where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our diesel-powered garbage trucks and heavy equipment. We are looking for skilled Diesel Mechanics who can:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles used for waste collection operations.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake replacements, tire repairs, and hydraulic system upkeep.
• Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards and comply with DOT inspections.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment efficiently to complete repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and complete repair work orders.
• Follow safety procedures and maintenance schedules to uphold company standards.

This position typically offers a competitive pay rate of $28 to $40 per hour, with potential for overtime, shift differentials for evening or overnight shifts, tool allowances, and performance or safety bonuses based on your experience and location. Full-time employees may also benefit from:
