This contract opportunity is designed for a compassionate and skilled COTA to cover an FMLA leave starting August 27, 2026, coinciding with the first day of school. Qualifications:
- Active COTA license/certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam passed)
- School-based experience highly valued
- Previous work with a variety of student ages and disability populations preferred
- Reliable transportation essential due to district-wide coverage
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, educators, and families
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Work closely under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to execute treatment plans
- Support students in building functional and academic skills
- Serve the needs of diverse learners across multiple campuses in the district
- Accurately document daily progress, treatment sessions, and communications
- Participate in team meetings, providing insight on student progress and strategies
- Adapt interventions creatively according to student needs and school settings
This full-time position spans approximately 12 weeks, with the potential for extension. Schedules are expected to be around 7-7.5 hours daily, pending final district confirmation.
