Medical Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures. Experience in ENT (otolaryngology) or facial plastic surgery is strongly preferred. Our EHR (electronic health record) system is ModMed.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
• Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits to enhance patient care continuity.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
• Assist physician with patient examinations and procedures.
• Conduct basic life support (BLS) as needed in emergency situations.
• Support outpatient and inpatient care by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage administrative tasks such as prior authorizations

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
• Basic life support certification or advanced certifications are a plus (e.g., ACLS).
• Strong understanding of patient care principles across various specialties including geriatrics, emergency medicine, and medical-surgical care.
• Experience with EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
• Prior experience assisting in procedures is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
• A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional patient service.
• Familiarity with ModMed EMR is advantageous.

Schedule

• Day shift
• Monday through Friday
• No nights
• No weekends
