Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in the Bayview and throughout San Francisco.

We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, economic and housing security.

Mental health counseling for youth and adults

  • School-based mental health services
  • Family transitional and supportive housing
  • Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs
  • Case management services at several homeless and housing programs
  • These programs are funded through nearly 20 contracts with the City & County of San Francisco, and are monitored and regulated by several authorities, including CCSF and the State and Federal government.

As an LVN, there is an expectation that the position will assess guest condition, implement treatment plans, educate guests on their conditions, provide emotional support, administer medication, and document the services provided.

Prepare and measure methadone doses in accordance with written prescriptions and protocols established by the Medical Director.

  • Monitor and document patient reactions to methadone, including withdrawal symptoms, overmedication, or adverse effects, and notify the provider as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate methadone dispensing logs, inventory counts, and all required records to ensure full accountability and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure secure safekeeping of all controlled medications, ensuring proper safe closure and strict chain-of-custody procedures at the end of each shift.
  • Transport and deliver methadone to designated correctional facilities following secure transport protocols when assigned.
  • Perform phlebotomy for routine, annual, and diagnostic laboratory testing.
  • Conduct ECG/EKG testing, including correct lead placement, acquisition of tracings, and reporting abnormal findings to the healthcare provider.
  • Obtain vital signs, complete health assessments, and accurately document clinical findings.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment in accordance with infection-control standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new technologies and an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Work some weekends as scheduled.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of all clinic-related information. This includes clinic location, operations, patient information, and staff information.
  • Must possess a current State of California LVN license in good standing, with required professional liability insurance.
  • Must have DMV clearance, including an acceptable driving record, as the position requires secure medication delivery to local jails.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse, underserved, immigrants and minority communities.
  • Ability to work independently, while also seeking supervision and guidance when appropriate.
  • Experience working in community health, public health, non-profit, government, or public-sector experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Avatar, internet browsers, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in an open office environment surrounded by moderate noise and distractions.
  • travel from the building to other sites.
  • Able to meet required state, federal, local and BVHP standards.
  • Live Scan fingerprinting and TB clearance as well as any other medical vaccinations may be required.
  • At least two COVID-19 vaccinations (preferred).
