Volunteer Receptionist Responsibilities
- Greet all visitors who come to the hospital and provide a welcoming environment.
- Answer phone calls professionally, demonstrate knowledge of the switchboard, forward calls to the correct person or department, and take detailed messages when necessary.
- Perform administrative duties including mail sorting and distribution, filing, faxing, copying, and other clerical tasks.
- Enter data related to hospital supply, therapy, and billing costs.
- Order and monitor office supplies and maintain supply control.
- Manage multiple work tasks under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Volunteer Receptionist Qualifications
- Must have at least a high school diploma.
- Must be experienced in guest and/or reception.
- At least one year of work experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to articulate, interpret, and explain complex information and comprehend written and verbal communication.
- Additional languages desirable.
- Experience in answering multi‑line switchboard and directing incoming calls.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and human relation skills.
