Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the vibrant West Hartford area. This full-time position spans the academic year, from August 31 through June 11, serving students across one or more school sites. Youll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance student independence, learning, and participation throughout their educational journey.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Connecticut required
  • Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
  • Skilled at supporting students with a variety of needs across K-12 grade levels
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Adaptable to rotating across multiple school locations as needed
  • Reliability and professionalism in working a Monday through Friday schedule

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Work closely with occupational therapists and educational staff to implement student support plans
  • Document sessions, maintain accurate records, and monitor progress toward goals
  • Assist in developing classroom strategies and individualized interventions to promote student engagement
  • Travel to multiple school sites within the district, providing consistent care and communication
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss and review student needs and progress
