- Valid DC Special Education Teaching license
- Experience with elementary-age students in a school setting
- Knowledge of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and behavior supports
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other educators and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom for all learners
- Adaptability and organization in a fast-paced environment
What youll do:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and caregivers
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and required training
- Foster a safe and encouraging classroom climate
