About The Division:
Fiscal Management facilitates the flow of financial resources to achieve the goals of the state in support of the Comptroller¿s role as the state¿s chief accountant.
Work Hours:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. May occasionally work evenings, weekends or holidays. Hours may change based on business needs.
Accountant V: $6,000.00-$6,500.00
Accountant VI: $7,083.33-$7,583.33
Minimum Qualifications
Accountant V
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor¿s degree in Accounting.
- Four years of experience with general ledger accounting functions (not including subledgers like A/P, A/R, Payroll, etc)
- Experience with automated accounting system software (i.e. USAS, CAPPS, MIP, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (primarily Excel and Word)
Accountant VI:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor¿s degree in Accounting.
- Five years of general financial/accounting, financial reporting, or financial statement auditing experience.
- Experience with automated accounting system software (i.e. USAS, CAPPS, MIP, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (primarily Excel and Word)
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor¿s degree or higher in Accounting or other related field (e.g. Finance).
- State AFR or ACFR experience.
- State governmental or higher education accounting/auditing experience.
- Federal/State grants, bonds, investments, and/or capital asset accounting practices.
Substitutions
- One year of experience with general ledger accounting functions (not including subledgers like A/P, A/R, Payroll, etc) may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years). For example, an Acct V is required to have eight (8) years of accounting experience with no accounting degree.
Licenses and Certifications
- Preferred Certifications: Certified Public Accountant.
