Full-Time or Part-Time Medical Assistant
Are you a recent college graduate or an experienced Medical Assistant looking for an opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, patient-centered family practice? We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.
Our practice has two office locations—Kensington and Mayfair. Candidates must be willing to work at either location as needed.
In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties to support our providers and ensure exceptional patient care. You will also receive training to serve as a backup team member for our Physical Therapy department when needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative and clinical duties to support daily office operations.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain and document vital signs.
- Perform venipuncture (blood draws) for laboratory testing.
- Administer injections as directed by the physician.
- Assist with the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program and follow established protocols.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals and prior authorizations.
- Scan and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
- Answer incoming telephone calls and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and medications.
- Collect patient co-pays and assist with billing-related tasks when needed.
- Prepare reports, forms, and other administrative documents.
- Prepare and maintain clean, safe patient care areas.
- Cross-train as a backup for the Physical Therapy department, including assisting patients with physician-directed therapeutic modalities when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy (blood draw) experience preferred.
- Experience administering injections preferred.
- Strong computer and EMR skills preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
