Full-Time or Part-Time Medical Assistant

Are you a recent college graduate or an experienced Medical Assistant looking for an opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, patient-centered family practice? We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

Our practice has two office locations—Kensington and Mayfair. Candidates must be willing to work at either location as needed.

In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties to support our providers and ensure exceptional patient care. You will also receive training to serve as a backup team member for our Physical Therapy department when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and clinical duties to support daily office operations.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain and document vital signs.
  • Perform venipuncture (blood draws) for laboratory testing.
  • Administer injections as directed by the physician.
  • Assist with the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program and follow established protocols.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Scan and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and medications.
  • Collect patient co-pays and assist with billing-related tasks when needed.
  • Prepare reports, forms, and other administrative documents.
  • Prepare and maintain clean, safe patient care areas.
  • Cross-train as a backup for the Physical Therapy department, including assisting patients with physician-directed therapeutic modalities when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy (blood draw) experience preferred.
  • Experience administering injections preferred.
  • Strong computer and EMR skills preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
