2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Sergeant Talent Partners is partnering with a leading food manufacturing company to identify a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic for its Baltimore, Maryland facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping production running efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role: 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Compensation: $25–35/hour ($60,000–75,000+ annually)

Location: Baltimore, MD

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment.
• Perform production line changeovers and improve changeover efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoot motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC-controlled equipment, and industrial control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
• Assist with new equipment installations, start-ups, and process improvements.
• Complete maintenance documentation while following safety and GMP standards.
• Work closely with production to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing or packaging experience is preferred.
• Allen-Bradley PLC experience is a plus.
• GMP experience is preferred.
