The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (GU CGHPI)’s mission is to sustainably improve health outcomes through generation and translation of scientific evidence into policy and practice. Our work focuses on infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, health security, maternal neonatal child health and health systems strengthening. We apply unique approaches to these areas to optimize outcomes and ensure sustainability through behavioral science, epidemiology and data science, health services outcomes research and integrated delivery methods. To advance the missions of the Center we seek an Executive Assistant and Office Manager.
The Executive Assistant and Office Manager plays a key role in maintaining effective communication, ensuring administrative continuity, and fostering a professional, service-oriented office environment. This position helps streamline internal processes, supports resource management, and contributes to the achievement of departmental goals in alignment with Georgetown University’s mission of excellence in education, research, and service.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide executive-level administrative support to department leadership
- Manage calendars, meetings, travel arrangements, and correspondence
- Oversee daily office operations, supplies, facilities coordination, and vendor relationships
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, events, and special projects
- Maintain records, reports, and confidential documentation
- Support budgeting, purchasing, and expense reconciliation processes
- Supervise administrative support staff and/or student workers, as assigned
Work Interactions
This position reports directly to the Center Director and works closely with faculty, staff, students, vendors, and external stakeholders. The Executive Assistant and Office Manager serves as a liaison between leadership and internal/external constituents, ensuring timely communication and effective follow-through on departmental priorities. This position may supervise student workers and collaborates across Georgetown University departments including Human Resources, Finance, Facilities, and Information Services to support operational excellence and strategic initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience providing executive support and project management
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, external partners and donors
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Experience working in multi-cultural settings
- Experience working in organization with extensive international involvement in global health and international development ecosystem
- Working knowledge of public health, health systems and clinical medicine context
- Experience and interest in business and partnership development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of other languages (Portuguese, Spanish etc.) and international customs is an asset: specifically, knowledge of French is an added advantage.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$47,586.00 - $87,558.13
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
