Your Impact at LILA
Revenue accounting is the nervous system of our financial operations. In a company built on complex licensing arrangements, collaboration agreements, and milestone-based partnerships, every contract requires precise operational translation. We're looking for a Manager, Revenue Accounting who can own this critical function—ensuring revenue is recognized accurately, reported transparently, and scaled efficiently as we grow.
What You'll be building
Revenue Operations Execution
Lead end-to-end revenue accounting operations for licensing, collaboration, and revenue-generating agreements across the organization
Translate contract terms into scalable operational workflows: billing triggers, milestone recognition, deliverable tracking, and cash application
Ensure revenue is recorded with technical accuracy and consistency against established accounting policies
Serve as the operational expert for ASC 606 application, bridging technical accounting conclusions with day-to-day execution
Contract Analysis Translation
Review and interpret revenue agreements, identifying key accounting drivers and operational requirements
Work closely with legal, business development, and finance to flag ambiguities or risks in contracts that could complicate revenue recognition
Create clear, organized contract summaries and accounting treatment matrices to guide operational teams
Financial Close Reporting
Own monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including supporting schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations
Maintain comprehensive revenue tracking documentation and ensure audit-ready records
Partner with FP A and external auditors on revenue reporting and attestation
Billing Operations Partner Reporting
Manage invoicing workflows, milestone billing, cost-sharing arrangements, and variable revenue components
Oversee cash application, customer reconciliations, and partner billing inquiries
Ensure all reporting to partners is timely, accurate, and contractually compliant
Process Design Systems Optimization
Design and refine scalable processes as we grow and take on more complex revenue arrangements
Partner with IT and finance systems teams to operationalize revenue workflows in NetSuite (or equivalent ERP)
Build templates, tracking tools, and documentation systems to reduce manual effort and operational risk
Cross-Functional Partnership
Work closely with legal, finance, business development, FP A, and scientific teams to align contract terms with execution
Proactively identify and solve revenue operational challenges before they impact reporting
What You'll Need to Succeed
4–7+ years of accounting experience with meaningful exposure to revenue recognition and ASC 606
Strong working knowledge of ASC 606; demonstrated ability to apply it to complex, real-world revenue arrangements
Proven experience operationalizing revenue processes: billing, revenue tracking, reconciliations, and close activities
Ability to read, interpret, and translate contracts into clear accounting and operational workflows
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to manage multiple complex agreements simultaneously
Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders
Bonus Points For
Experience in biotech, life sciences, or deep tech environments
Hands-on experience with licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, milestone-based revenue, or cost-sharing arrangements
Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems
CPA or candidate
