Position

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You. Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work as a Bartender.

Responsibilities

Maintain proper and adequate set‑up of the bar on a daily basis, including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.

Maintain stock, cut and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.

Greet guests courteously and friendly, promote and document orders for drinks. Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Check guests for proper identification, detect and act upon guest inebriation, and demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.

Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.

Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys.

Lock up and store all beverage, food and other equipment, deposit cash drops and secure bank.

Qualifications

Two years of bartending experience in a high‑end/luxury cocktail bar; mixologist work experience preferred; previous Forbes training preferred.

Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.

Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes.

Basic English language writing skills for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers, and ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.

Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.

Ability to lift 40 lbs, work 8 hours walking or standing, and work in confined spaces for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Holder Card within 30 days of hire.

The hourly rate is $21.40 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
