Controller – Commercial Property Management

Sunshine Commercial Properties Management is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a commercial office portfolio. This position requires a strong accounting background and extensive hands-on knowledge of Yardi Voyager, PayScan, Forecast Manager.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple properties while providing accurate and timely financial reporting to ownership and asset management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions for a commercial real estate portfolio.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Prepare and review property financial statements, variance reports, and operating analyses.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
• Lead annual budget preparation, forecasting, and reforecasting processes.
• Manage CAM reconciliations, operating expense recoveries, and tenant billing.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax reporting, and lender reporting requirements.
• Maintain and optimize accounting processes within Yardi Voyager.
• Review lease setups, amendments, escalations, and recoveries for accuracy.
• Partner with property management, asset management, and ownership teams to support operational and financial objectives.
• Develop and mentor accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate or property management.
• Extensive Yardi Voyager experience is required.
• Strong understanding of commercial property accounting, CAM reconciliations, and lease administration.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial office property management accounting.
• Multi-property portfolio accounting.
• Yardi PayScan, Construction Manager, Forecast Manager and related Yardi modules.
• Experience working directly with Property Management and ownership.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
