Armed Security Officer
Full-time, 40 hours

Patrols assigned areas of Hospital facility and grounds in order to maintain an orderly and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Enforces Hospital policies and procedures and applicable local and state laws.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience & Training Required:
Successful completion of the OPOTA Private Security academy and/or OPOTA 20 Hour Private Security Firearms Certification or OPOTA Basic Police Academy
Must maintain active and current certification in firearms to department and OPOTA standard.
Must maintain active and current certification in Conducted Electrical Weapon to department standard.
Honorable discharge from military service can be substituted for related work experience.
Completion of coursework in higher education in a related field can be substituted for some or all required work experience.
Maintain proficiency with firearms and self-defense techniques.
Must handle all incidents in a confidential manner, displaying compassion.
Required to carry firearm within the scope of their duties.
Obtains the provided training and certification and required to carry a Conducted Electrical Weapon with the scope of their duties.
Preferred to have a valid Ohio Driver's License and meet Summa Fleet Insurance Standards, but not required.
Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Obtains the provided training and certification for NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training within the first six months of hire and annually thereafter.
