JOB TITLE: Pharmacy Technician (Customer Support / Pharmacy Operations)

LOCATION: Cary, NC (Onsite initially; hybrid possible after 90–120 days based on metrics/attendance)

OPENINGS: 10

JOB TYPE: Temporary-to-Permanent (conversion based on performance, metrics, and attendance)

PAY: $22.00/hr (W2) — must be a registered Pharmacy Technician

SCHEDULE:

  • Training: Onsite, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • After training: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday–Friday
  • Possible rotating Saturday (about 1x/month) with a weekday off

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role supports a specialty pharmacy operations team by handling inbound/outbound calls, coordinating refill deliveries, assisting with payment and delivery scheduling, and ensuring excellent customer service for patients and clinical partners. Strong phone presence, empathy, and attention to detail are key.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls related to prescription status, refills, delivery scheduling, and payment coordination
  • Provide high-level customer support to patients, clinicians, and clients; route calls to the appropriate team when needed
  • Run medical claims and document clear, concise notes so the team can quickly assess referral status
  • Verify insurance information and assist with invoice requests when applicable
  • Recognize and escalate adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to the clinical team
  • Support other operational tasks as assigned based on program/team needs

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred)
  • 1+ year call center experience
  • Strong verbal/written communication and professional phone etiquette
  • Comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to document accurately
  • Ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism (patient-facing environment)

PREFERRED (PLUS):

  • Pharmacy experience
  • Medical office experience / medical terminology
  • Medical claims experience
