We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Production Assembler / Trainer to join our manufacturing team. This role combines hands-on production assembly expertise with leadership responsibilities focused on training, mentoring, and developing assembly personnel. The ideal candidate will possess extensive assembly experience, strong technical aptitude, and a passion for helping others succeed while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Production Assembly
- Perform complex mechanical and/or electrical assembly operations according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Assemble products, subassemblies, and components with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure products meet specifications and quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and identify root causes of defects or production delays.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following company and OSHA guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Training & Development
- Train new hires and existing employees on assembly procedures, safety practices, quality requirements, and production processes.
- Develop and update training materials, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluate employee performance during training periods and provide constructive feedback.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assembly processes and best practices.
- Mentor team members to improve technical skills, productivity, and quality performance.
- Assist supervisors in identifying skill gaps and recommending development plans.
Leadership Support
- Act as a lead resource on the production floor, providing guidance and technical support to assembly personnel.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with onboarding and cross-training initiatives to ensure workforce flexibility.
- Support production scheduling and workflow management as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-5 years of manufacturing or production assembly experience.
- 2-5 years of experience training, mentoring, or leading production personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision assembly work.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
