This is a hands-on, technical leadership role, not a people management position. You’ll operate as a subject matter expert in industrial power systems, shaping complex designs, guiding project teams, and partnering directly with customers on mission-critical solutions.

What You’ll Do

Lead end-to-end electrical system design for industrial and mission-critical projects

Own system architecture across MV/LV distribution, substations, and backup power systems

Act as the technical authority on complex, high-value projects

Develop and review: Single line diagrams

Protection and coordination studies

Schematics and equipment layouts

Partner directly with customers to define robust, scalable power solutions

Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects (often 10–15+)

Mentor engineers and elevate technical capability across the team

What Sets This Role Apart

True technical leadership role, no people management required

Work on large-scale, complex electrical infrastructure, not small commercial systems

High visibility with customers and leadership

Opportunity to shape engineering standards and system design approaches

15–20+ years in electrical engineering

PE license highly preferred

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s in Physics or Math related highly desirable)

Deep expertise in industrial power systems (“big wires”)

Strong experience with: MV/LV distribution

Substations, switchgear, transformers

Generators and UPS systems

Protection & coordination (SEL relays preferred)

Background in industrial, utility, data center, or large infrastructure projects

Experience with industrial engineering firms

You may currently be a:

Principal / Lead Engineer at an engineering firm working on large industrial projects

Senior engineer ready to step into a technical authority role

Power systems specialist in an industrial EPC, utility, or mission-critical environment
