Job title: Shop Mechanic & Driver

Reports to: General Manager

Job Purpose

The Shop Mechanic & Driver is responsible for assisting with inventory control for the warehouse, receiving, and routine maintenance of mechanical equipment. This position ensures all jobs, materials, and equipment are ready so workers can complete their projects on time. The Shop Mechanic & Driver is to report to the General Manager. The Shop Mechanic & Driver must also possess a relatively clean driving record in order to drive company owned vehicles to job sites in order to troubleshoot equipment challenges.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Shop Supervisor in warehouse
• Assist in monitoring facility safety and operations security
• Assist in developing and administering inventory controls
• Assist in driving to job sites as necessary to troubleshoot equipment challenges
• Conducts regular preventative maintenance on equipment including but not limited to, small motors, mechanical scrubbers, spray pumps, saws, and small power tools.
• Work in tandem with Superintendents and Project Managers as it relates to material needs for jobs and keeping warehouse inventory current
• Assists in ensuring purchase orders are created for material arriving into the warehouse or for maintenance services performed by third parties.

Qualifications:

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – Required
• Certified to operate forklift and aerial lifts -Preferred but not required as certification training can be provided.
• Valid US Drivers License with clean driving record in order to operate company insured vehicles. - Required
• CDL license preferred

Experience

• One or Two years experience in a construction or mechanical field or similar
• Exposure in construction industry preferred
• General maintenance or mechanical knowledge will be a strong asset
• Track record of working in a high volume, fast paced environment
• CDL not required but considered a strong asset

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, push, and pull objects in a warehouse setting.
