Authorization Benefit Specialist

To support the authorization process for outpatient procedures, the part-time hourly Authorization Benefit Specialist II will ensure pre-certification to avoid reimbursement issues while providing excellent service to physicians in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Pre-certify scheduled outpatient procedures to prevent negative reimbursements and patient penalties Communicate professionally and courteously with physicians regarding authorization needs Manage multiple tasks effectively while performing basic math calculations as required Required qualifications High School diploma or GED is required Two to four years of experience in a physician's office, hospital registration, or medical billing Training in medical billing from an educational institution is acceptable
