GhostRx Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to support Laboratory Services at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division (Seattle VA Medical Center) in Seattle, Washington. In this full-time, day-shift role you will be a vital member of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service, collecting high-quality blood and specimen samples that drive accurate diagnosis and treatment for the Veterans we are honored to serve. Working in the main hospital laboratory, you will perform venipuncture and capillary draws on adult and geriatric patient populations, properly label and process specimens, and ensure strict adherence to federal safety, quality, and infection-control standards. - *Qualification and Requirements**
+ High School Diploma or GED required
+ Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
+ Current national phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, AMT) preferred
+ Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting preferred
+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
+ Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection across adult and geriatric populations
+ Knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and processing protocols
+ Familiarity with electronic health records and laboratory information systems
+ U.S. citizenship required for federal facility credentialing
+ Ability to pass federal background investigation and meet VA credentialing requirements
- *Responsibilities**
+ Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on adult and geriatric Veteran patients in the main hospital laboratory
+ Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for analysis in accordance with Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) policy
+ Verify patient identity and follow proper specimen collection protocols to ensure sample integrity
+ Procure and handle blood products in accordance with established laboratory and safety procedures
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked collection area
+ Adhere to all infection-control, safety, and quality-assurance standards
+ Document collection activities accurately within the laboratory information and electronic health record systems
+ Provide courteous, compassionate service to Veterans, including those who may be anxious or in distress
+ Collaborate with laboratory and patient-care teams to support timely, accurate diagnostic testing
+ Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as assigned
