About The Role
The Visual Merchandising Project Specialist is an experienced, self-directed contributor within the Point of Purchase (POP) Development & Production Team, responsible for development of semi-permanent displays that drive sales of Skechers footwear and apparel across all global markets. This role manages project lifecycles, vendor relationships, and cross-functional partnerships, while ensuring alignment with brand standards and Key Initiative strategies. The Specialist proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes, elevate display quality, and strengthen in-store brand messaging across Domestic, International, Retail, and Apparel channels.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end development and production of assigned point of purchase projects, exercising independent judgment to meet target pricing, quality standards, and delivery timelines. Manage all project file transfers internally and with production vendors with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate with point of purchase development and production team on ideation, and development of new and innovative point of purchase display concepts, leveraging market trends, competitive analysis, and internal brand direction.
- Serve as the primary administrator for point of purchase project management within the FLEX PLM system — creating styles, maintaining records, and ensuring all final art and production files are accurately transferred to Visual Merchandising Library folders.
- On behalf of the Point of Purchase Development & Production Team:
- Independently manage the shipping, receiving, and tracking of all display samples from global production vendors.
- Partner with the in-house photography team to coordinate and oversee the documentation of all approved display samples.
- Maintain and organize image files across Key Initiative and Visual Merchandising Library folders.
- Author and distribute point of purchase memos to Skechers sales, field, and production teams, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Generate and analyze product booking reports for Key Initiatives and new projects, translating data into actionable recommendations.
- Independently oversee Visual Merchandising Showroom operations and point of purchase storage areas, maintaining accurate inventory records and managing off-site storage logistics.
- Manage vendor compliance, ensuring all suppliers adhere to packing, and labeling requirements for global Distribution Center shipments.
- Lead point of purchase planning and execution for Special Events, Global Conferences, Trade Shows, and Sales Meetings — managing timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and on-site logistics with cross-functional partners across Retail, PR, Travel, and HR.
- Conduct independent field evaluations of display samples at retail locations to assess quality and performance. Represent the point of purchase team in cross-departmental meetings across Skechers facilities.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated ability in vendor sourcing, display production, and project coordination from concept through delivery with minimal supervision.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and data analysis; strong working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Self-starter with an elevated level of initiative, a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound, timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently prioritize a high-volume, diverse workload.
- Ability to confidently present ideas and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
