Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage the company's accounts payable processes, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate financial records. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial concepts, and compliance standards will be essential to support our operational efficiency and financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify all incoming invoices using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly to ensure accurate accounts payable records
- Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable transactions, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Maintain detailed records of all payments, invoices, and supporting documentation for audit purposes
- Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to facilitate smooth invoice processing and payment approvals
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, and company policies during all financial transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and accruals related to accounts payable
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or PeopleSoft
- Proficiency in Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex Excel functions
- Experience with double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries
- Familiarity with public accounting standards and corporate accounting practices
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10-key typing skills
- Excellent analysis skills for identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently
- Knowledge of accounts receivable management, payroll processing, benefits administration, and governmental accounting is a plus
- Understanding of non-profit accounting principles and tax regulations is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $32.43 - $38.44 per hour
