LOAN OFFICER/UNDERWRITER
SUMMARY
Loan Officer/Underwriter is responsible for negotiating, underwriting and coordinating the closing of consumer/commercial loans in compliance with the Bank's lending policies and procedures; to develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers; and to promote business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.
DUTIES
- Underwrite new loans and develop new customer relationships.
- Service credit needs of existing and new customers.
- Consult with clients for financial and credit analysis, validate valuations of collateral.
- Coordinate with Loan Originator/Business Developing Officer and prepare loan write-ups for management and loan committee review.
- Assist Business Development Officer/Branch Manager in implementing business plan and marketing strategy to achieve the Bank’s financial objectives and CRA goals.
- Manage existing client relationships/loan portfolios; maintain adequate and complete filing and documentation including annual renewal and regular loan/financial covenants.
- Monitor/review existing account to detect potential problems and suspicious activities; apply problem account administration according to regulations and the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Cross sell other Bank products and services.
- Provide leadership, training and support to less experienced staff members within the assigned branch’s lending unit.
- Follow the bank’s BSA policy.
- Accept other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor, credit administration and executive management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Finance is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in originating and underwriting commercial loans, including commercial term loans, construction loans, line of credit, etc. and deposit with a track record of business development.
Skills/ Ability: Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, economic trend, loan origination with business development skills. PC proficient in Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is preferred.
