Responsibilities
- Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Take and develop dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions with clarity and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control policies and dental sterilization procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software platforms like ,Eaglesoft for documentation, and billing.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry and oral surgery.
- Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and the operation of a 3D scanner.
- Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental instrument processing, and sterilization protocols.
- Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry practices to improve workflow efficiency.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection control standards aligned with HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality and safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, providing compassionate care while explaining procedures clearly.
