Maintenance Repairer 2
The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Repairer 2 to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks at one of its secure care facilities or administrative offices. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept environments for youth and staff. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in general maintenance and a commitment to public service.
Job Duties:
As a Maintenance Repairer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing campus facilities, equipment, and grounds to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. In this role, you will:
- Maintenance Duties
- Perform general repairs to buildings, facilities, appliances, and equipment.
- Carry out automotive, electrical, carpentry, and limited appliance repair work independently or with staff support.
- Inspect equipment to identify costly repair needs and assist with welding, blueprint reading, and field repair techniques.
- Operate heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment essential to facility operations.
- Replace parts, make adjustments, and ensure functionality of campus systems.
- Grounds & Janitorial Service
- Maintain campus grounds, including lawn care and use of chemical products
- Perform custodial tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities.
- Interact with the public occasionally while performing duties.
- Complete additional assignments as directed by supervisory staff.

Work Location: This vacancy is located at the Jetson Center for Youth in Baker, Louisiana.
Appointment Type: Part Time / WAE
