Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Department: Shipping/Receiving

Description

The Material Handler performs production replenishments of parts and supplies accurately and on time.

How You Will Help

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for picking orders for production and delivering those orders to the appropriate department in a timely manner

Operates a handheld scanner to scan barcodes and accurately delivers materials to the production floor

Reviews pick list and picks appropriate material for specific work centers

Operates forklift, lift truck, side loaders, pallet trucks, picker and other loading/stacking equipment

Responsible for daily inspection of forklifts and performs on-spot checking

Performs daily cycle count checks and accurately report results

Responsible for putting away incoming material to appropriate stocking locations

Maintains and organizes warehouse storage including pallet consolidation and cleanliness of aisles

Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.

Well-versed in warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions

Ability to safely drive a forklift and picker

Familiar with delivery methods such as Fed Ex, UPS, or freight truck

Proficient in Data Entry

Knowledge of operating lift trucks, side loaders, pallet trucks, and other loading/stacking equipment

Solid understanding of mathematics

Proficient in Warehouse Management System, AS400, and CP scanner

Qualifications:

High School Diploma

6+ months of warehouse experience
